Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from arbitrary Boolean expressions containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses. For example:

 

politics economics

finds documents containing  'politics' or 'economics'

politics or economics

same as above

 

politics and economics

finds documents containing both 'politics' and  'economics'

politics not economics

finds documents containing 'politics' but not 'economics'

(capitalism not socialism) and HUMANISM

finds documents containing  'HUMANISM' , plus 'capitalism', but not 'socialism'

human*

finds documents containing words starting with 'hum'
